Rock and Roll does it again!
During WWII Britain had signs saying, "Keep Calm & Carry On," and various other slogans along the same lines. These signs were posted just about everywhere to encourage the citizenry through dark and troubled times. Finally, someone placed an additional phrase that I think should be the new slogan which I think is a message for the ages.

YES WE CAN! ... Raise gas prices that is.
Okay, so this is one that enervates me to where I must write about it. Now this may have occurred back in like February but a recent share of the cartoon below re-sparked my anger and now that I am blogging about issues of the day here I go:
The energy secretary of the United States, Steven Chu, actually said that the goal is to get gas prices to the same level as the European communities.* His idea and the 'progressive' line of thought is that more expensive gasoline will wean America off of oil. The foolishness of this idea is astounding. Firstly, in order for that to even come close to working everyone in the U.S. would have to live within a 5 - 10 mile radius of a major city to be able to use public transportation, otherwise they would have to use their own vehicle, thus continuing our dependence on oil. We have a lot more land to travel across to get our produce from point A to point B in this country than they do in Europe. The absurd notion that we can function that same way as most of Europe is astounding. I will stop with this first step and won't even continue trying to come up with a plan where raising gas prices would even come close to working because it is a waste of time and effort. Until we have alternate fuel sources that are viable and economical we have to use oil. Case closed by sheer impossible logistics. The clip I have linked to here has a great comment; "When you are literally doubling the price of gasoline how does that strengthen the economy?" A great question to which Steven Chu and Mr. Obama have no answers. Watch this; Steven Chu said what?!?

Obama as Robin Hood?
The current administration is trying to portray Obama as Robin Hood. The problem is that people seem to have forgotten the story of Robin Hood. He was against unjust and grossly high taxes and took the money from those imposing them and gave them back to the poor. The taxes that were being collected were from the poor not the rich.

Taking The Bull By The Horns
I read this timeline and although it is meant as a cartoon it has some enlightening facts. It was seven years from the time Romney left Bain Capital till Joe Soptic's wife died of cancer. Mitt had rescued the Olympics and became governor of Massachusetts by the time she died. How on earth that can be blamed on Romney you got me. Read the timeline and enjoy the mild joke.

Prove You're Not An Idiot
I wonder how many people did vote for Obama because they wanted to be a part of electing the first African American in history. Hopefully the peer pressure will get to them again and they will now vote against him because they feel the need to prove they aren't idiots. Voting Obama back in just might be the worst thing that could happen to this country since... well I can't think of anything that really compares. If he makes it back into office he will have free reign to finish his promise to "fundamentally change" America as we know it.

Five times more people on disability now than four years ago.
When people pay more and more in taxes then they can't find the hope in life of being able to someday get ahead. It is taxes that are breaking the will of the nation and watching where that tax money is going that is making us angry.

A Begining
Well, I have decided that I would like to start some rational discussion on issues of the day. I may offend others by having a different opinion and since that can have an unfortunate social and career impact I have decided to do this in an anonymous fashion. I will stand by my thoughts and if at some future date my financial well being is not dependant on someone who may have differing political / ideological beliefs I will be happy to make myself known. In the meantime please find my most recent thoughts listed in the comment section on the article I am linking to here;
